About the role:

Onsite manager of supplier’s staff.  Provide staffing oversight to ensure adequate coverage to support NLECC operations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Responsible for the performance of supplier’s staff and ensuring that services at the assigned NLECC location follow standard operating procedures to meet operational requirements.  Assist NLECC Management on various projects and routinely communicate with the NLECC Coordinators on daily operations.

Prerequisites: 

  • Must be a Lead Dispatcher for a minimum of ninety (90) days and/or mix of prior dispatcher experience with a demonstrated management and leadership experience;
  • Management experience required;
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data relative to staffing and contract compliance; providing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and fiscal year management reports; and producing charts, tables, spreadsheets, presentations and other documents using various software packages; and,
  • Demonstrated history of exceptional performance through assignments with additional complexity and responsibility.

What you will do:

  • Conduct daily quality assurance reviews by monitoring real-time and recorded audio communications to assist with improving dispatcher performance and identify training needs.
  • Perform data analysis of NLECC systems, providing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year reports to USPIS management; Produces charts, tables, spreadsheets, presentations, and other documents using various software packages.
  • Provide weekly staffing schedules by close of business the Friday before the work week begins.
  • Provide training to all supplier staff.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the supplier staff.
  • Communicate orally and in writing to convey information in a clear and concise manner (i.e., verbal communication, email, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations).
  • Required to complete supplier-provided managerial training course within ninety (90) days of assignment.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or 2 years of relevant Law Enforcement or similar occupational experience in a Law Enforcement Command Center/Dispatch environment.
  • Be able to provide documentation that proves US Citizenship.
  • Be able to attain and maintain a USPIS Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) Clearance, KACE Background Investigation, including credit check, criminal background, and drug screening.
  • Be able to sit for an extended period while monitoring multiple computer monitors.
  • Be able to maintain professionalism in highly stressful situations.
  • Be able to read and comprehend the English language, including, printed regulations, written instructions, training material, etc. 
  • Be able to write reports, and document events in a concise and accurate manner.  This includes the ability to proofread all documentation for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Be able to speak the English language clearly and fluently.
  • Be able to provide quality customer service while communicating with internal and external parties.
  • Be able to hear ordinary telephone and radio conversations with either ear.
  • Must possess strong computer and data entry skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute (WPM).
  • Be able to manage and prioritize tasks from multiple simultaneous sources (radio, telephone, alarm monitoring software, etc.).
  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts. 
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).  Radio communications surveillance software experience preferred. 
  • Ability to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to handle conflict in stressful situations.

  • Required to complete supplier-provided managerial training course within ninety (90) days of assignment.

Dress and appearance standards:

  • USPIS requires all personnel are required to wear nothing less formal than business casual attire as defined by:
  • Pants must be slacks.
  • Shirts may be polo or dress (with collar).
  • Footwear must be closed toe/heel shoes. No sandals, tennis shoes or flip flops.
  • Appearance must be clean and neat; torn, tattered or soiled clothing will not be permitted.
  • Hats, baseball caps, bandannas are not permitted.
