This job role is responsible for designing and implementing software application architectures that align with business objectives and technical requirements
Primary duties and responsibilities shall include, but not limited to:
Solution Design, Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Identify, evaluate, and scope opportunities for process improvements, innovation, automation, and enhanced business intelligence solutions.
- Design and develop fit-for-purpose software applications and analytics solutions that support business objectives and operational efficiency.
- Continuously review and improve processes, systems, and methodologies to ensure the efficient delivery of software and analytics solutions.
- Recommend and implement technology enhancements that improve business performance and user experience.
Project Delivery and Stakeholder Management
- Deliver client-specific and company-wide software development and analytics projects in accordance with company standards, project requirements, and agreed timelines.
- Ensure projects remain on track, within scope, and aligned with approved business requirements.
- Communicate project progress, milestones, risks, and issues to stakeholders and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with line management and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Conduct extensive testing of new software applications, system enhancements, reports, and analytics solutions prior to deployment.
- Perform regular testing and validation of existing applications and business intelligence solutions to ensure continued quality, reliability, and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain quality control processes for all reporting and analytics outputs.
- Validate and cross-check data and reports against multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and minimal customer impact.
Business Intelligence, Reporting and Analytics
- Develop, maintain, automate, and deliver static and recurring reports within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data used in reporting and analytics.
- Provide actionable insights, trend analysis, and recommendations derived from dashboards, reports, and data analysis to support business improvement initiatives.
Application Support, Change and Incident Management
- Maintain, monitor, and upgrade existing software applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software application errors, defects, and performance issues.
- Manage change control processes, incident management, and error resolution activities affecting software applications and analytics platforms.
- Investigate root causes of incidents and implement corrective and preventative measures to improve system stability and business continuity.
- Ensure all application changes are appropriately tested, documented, approved, and implemented in accordance with company standards.
Documentation and Governance
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of software development activities, technical specifications, testing results, system enhancements, change requests, and issue resolutions.
- Ensure all development, reporting, and analytics processes are properly documented and compliant with organisational standards and governance requirements.
Education requirements :
- Degree/diploma in IT. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a formal qualification
