The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a senior Appian Developer with experience in Palantir and Appian AI to perform a variety of duties in connection with agile software development, design, planning, implementation, testing and support for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Aviation Safety applications using FAA’s Appian low-code development platform.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Design, develop, and implement Appian applications, focusing on Appian AI capabilities.
- Build scalable workflows, rules, and interfaces in Appian, leveraging low-code/no-code features.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Integrate Appian applications with Palantir Foundry for advanced data processing and analytics.
- Develop and execute unit and integration testing to ensure quality deliverables.
- Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Appian-based applications.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in Appian, Palantir, AI, and data integration technologies.
- Solve highly complex technical problems using Appian and other supporting platforms, problem Solver and ability to estimate and size Appian business requirements
- Coach others on technical best practices, provide technical guidance to mid-level developers
- Foster a positive team environment focused on advanced technical knowledge, effective collaboration, and positive customer outcomes
- Research, develop, and implement new tools to speed up and simplify application development
- Attend meetings and deliver presentations as required to FAA developers
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field/degree (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform low-code development and related technologies to include process modeling, and SAIL interfaces.
- Proven experience integrating Appian AI and related features (e.g., Intelligent Document Processing)
- Experience with Palantir, particularly Foundry, including data integration and analysis capabilities
- Experience in Object Oriented programming languages primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, experience in working with JSON, XML & RESTful API
- Strong understanding of data workflows, integration protocols (REST/SOAP APIs), and relational databases
- Proven ability to coach and mentor technical staff
- Excellent problem-solving skills and talent for identifying creative solutions
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical groups, both internal and external
- Ability to interface with Architects, customers, and technical personnel to understand business processes and system requirements
- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships. Ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals on all levels
Must have the ability to obtain a public trust suitability clearance.(To qualify, you will have to be a US citizen or permanent resident and resided in the US for a minimum of 3 consecutive years.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Appian development experience, demonstrated subject matter expertise with the Appian platform and related technologies (Appian level 2 or 3 certification preferred)
- Understand the differences between basic design principles in integrating to Web Services
- 5+ years’ experience in Object Oriented programming languages primarily Java, ideally in the context of Appian plugins, experience in working with JSON, XML & RESTful API
- 3+ years of experience in an agile delivery environment
- Previous FAA and/or Government contracting work experience.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
