JOB DESCRIPTION

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide QAD application level support, delivering solutions for incident and drive it to resolution.
  • Work closely with user-base to identify areas of process improvement and leverage opportunities that improve operational excellence.
  • Gathers requirements, plans, develops OpenEdge (Progress 4GL) programs, tests and documents, applying standard programming procedures and best practices.
  • Develop scripts for the testing of proposed scenarios as well as current reported problems.
  • Help business through User Acceptance Test (UAT) in getting approval for proposed changes and perform Change Management Process.
  • Collaborate with business team to identify current procedures and clarify program objectives.
  • Preparation of detailed descriptions and flowcharts of work and functions to clearly portray the procedures involved.
  • Participate on QAD deployments, upgrades, and implementations of added functionality.
  • Provide business continuity and disaster recovery support if needed.
  • Manage expectations with key stakeholders as to delivery and status of the deliverables
  • Manage application service and change requests (problem resolution, new features, new structures, new users, configuration settings)
  • Coordinate and maintain the configuration of QAD ERP modules in multiple instances
  • Ensure that the solution leverage the standard configuration settings and that the technical design are documented
  • Recommend options and process improvements or modification to meet business requirements.
  • Do quality check by participating in testing to validate that the implemented features meet requirements
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of user support and training modules and manuals
  • Contribute to training key users in support of upgrades and enhancements to QAD ERP system.
  • Be a technical and functional contact for the region.
  • Assist in the realization of company goals and objectives for global IT
  • Provide liaison between various teams such as architecture, BU IT, Data center, SCM, Manufacturing leaders and plant IT.
  • Facilitate ownership and self-efficiency in implementation and support
  • Develop and support MFG & SCM application portfolio with standards, processes and procedures
  • Comply with Audit controls, SOX compliance and security and support various audit process throughout the year.
  • Coordination and support EDI for the regions

Activities

  • Support and implement QAD suite of applications across different sites.
  • Research and recommend process improvement solutions, ensure efficiency and currency of the established procedures to achieve optimum performance levels for the manufacturing Operations.
  • Support the Problem Management process and serve as a channel of communications among the manufacturing sites, Support Groups (Applications & Vendors) and Management
  • Assists in planning the deployments and configuration changes to current production environment
  • Presents various metrics to management and proposes continuous improvement ideas.
  • Escalates the incidents/problems as required
  • Co-ordinate the changes that span across multiple applications with respective application owners
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for ensuring agreed service levels are maintained and reported to both local management and global IT management
  • Ensures systems and procedures are compliant with appropriate legislative requirements, i.e. Data Protection Act
  • Operates across multiple plants and multiple units
