Job Description Summary

The Manager of HDNU Plant Controls Engineering leads a team of Global Design Leaders (GDLs) responsible for designing, implementing, and commissioning control systems for Gas Turbines (GT), Bottoming Cycle (HRSG & ST), and Balance of Plant (BOP) applications. This servant leader shapes team culture, drives execution, and ensures successful project across the entire ITR process with a focus on the Order to Remittance (OTR) project execution — all while embodying the GE Vernova Way.

Roles and Responsibilities

As HDNU Controls Project Execution Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of Global Design Leaders (GDLs) to define and implement engineering strategies covering Hardware and Software design for Mark VIe Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine power train control systems, along with broader Plant distributed control systems (DCS – HRSG & BOP).
  • Enhancing team performance by focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost KPIs. Collaborating with HDNU Controls Operation and Alliance Partners to accurately forecast and fulfill the demands of Americas & Europe projects.
  • Cultivating a cohesive HDNU controls team to foster an improved culture. Leading a team in executing over 100 projects annually to bring more than 10 GW of new power online each year.
  • Managing, improving, and nurturing key relationships with Alliance execution partners, multiple internal stakeholders, and several of GE Vernova's largest clients.
  • Conducting large-scale plant customer witness tests and power plant startups each year, overseeing the protection and control of up to $7 billion in new Power Plant assets.
  • Attracting, onboarding, and developing top engineering talent through coaching, regular feedback, and career development conversations
  • Facilitating Priority Setting, Mid-Year, and Annual Performance Reviews; managing compensation planning and differentiated recognition
  • Demonstrating and actively coaching the GE Vernova Way — embedding a "we" mindset, servant leadership, and inclusive culture daily
  • Operationalizing the Life Saving Rules
  • Leading as a Lean Leader, prioritizing SQDC, driving Daily Management, and enabling continuous improvement through Lean tools such as PSR, kaizen, and VSM.
  • Providing technical direction to GDLs on high-risk, complex controls projects across GT, ST, HRSG, and BOP systems
  • Ensuring consistent system-level solutions, on-time delivery, and alignment to quality, schedule and cost targets
  • Partnering with Project Managers, ITO/Commercial, and external customers to drive controls strategy and customer satisfaction

What You’ll Bring (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in design, project management, and/or team leadership within the Power Industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in industrial control system design for power plants, including gas and steam turbines.
  • Advanced understanding of power plant clients and control system providers.

  • Proven track record and experience in leading Mark VIe control system projects, designs and/or distributed control systems.
  • Established network with Power Generation utility clients and plant operators.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in driving outcomes within a large, globally matrixed organization.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
