We are seeking an experienced trade service professional to join our Wholesale Credit Operations team. The Manager of Trade Services is responsible for the processing of trade transactions to ensure the timely completion of data input and filing of documents. This role reports to the Head of Trade Services Centre and the successful candidate will be based in our Penang Trade Services Centre

Job Summary:
  • To process trade transactions via TE2000 (Trade computerized system).
  • Ensure documents are properly checked and authorized before submitting for approval (where applicable).
  • To perform balancing, reconciliation, self-audit, housekeeping of reports and follow-ups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check, Verify, Process and Input trade transactions in TE2000.
  • Examination of trade documents.
  • Ensure accuracy of transactions.
  • Ensure financing of trade transactions is in line with customer’s nature of business.
  • Tracking payments of outstanding bills.
  • To ensure compliance with guidelines, procedures, policies etc.
  • To be familiar with and have a working knowledge of regulatory requirements and ICC publications related to Trade.
  • Processing of Islamic trade transactions for Hong Leong Islamic Bank Bhd
  • Carry out any duties as may be assigned by Head – TSC or team leader from time to time.

Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

  • Monitor morale and constantly motivate officers and staff by encouragement and by creating awareness of the bank’s values and to ensure staff attain such standards.
  • Train staff to attain the level of expertise required
  • Identify and manage improvement initiatives in order to increase productivity
  • Identify risks in trade operations and take appropriate steps to eliminate or minimize these risks.
  • Troubleshooting all trade related issues involving processes

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate with at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking/Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 5 years and above of working experience in the financial industry with experience in trade operations.
  • Possess knowledge of consumer banking products and services as well as regulations governing the consumer banking business and products will be an added advantage.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with people at different levels.
  • PC literate with knowledge in Microsoft Office Appliances.
