Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is looking for a F18 Flight Simulation – Associate Software Technical Analyst to join the F18 Flight Simulation Lab team located in Berkeley, MO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

We are looking for engineers who want challenging and unique opportunities to work closely with F18 Avionics Software engineers. This role contributes to the complete development of key F18 software. There is an opportunity to work with both software and hardware for avionic systems. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports software integration by executing complex build, environment set-up or test procedures to identify and document problems and ensure system function and stability
  • Assists with root cause analysis of integration issues and maintains integration log
  • Uses and customizes software tools to generate complex software products (e.g., software builds, requirement specifications, design documents) and solve problems
  • Designs, constructs, documents, and checks out code in order to implement solutions to difficult problems; participates in reviews of support software
  • Executes and documents the results of complex software tests; supports test procedure, case and scenario development
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and analyzes data to support assessment of complex software performance/function
  • Collects, performs initial analysis, reviews and reports software metrics
  • Works under consultative direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Associate’s Degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 4 or more years of equivalent technical experience
  • 1+ years of experience in all phases of the software development life cycle
  • 2+ years of experience developing software
  • 1+ years of experience working with hardware

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • Experience developing software Mission Computing
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems (e.g., avionics, hydraulic, electrical, egress systems), components (e.g., multifunction displays wing, engine, landing gear transmission), and loadable/non-loadable software (e.g., radar operational programs, inertial navigation programs, operational flight programs).
  • Ability to utilize technological tools (e.g., PC's, web sites) and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data relevant to workloads, responsibilities, problem identifications and resolutions. Ability to operate relevant personal computing hardware (e.g., personal computers, software, printers, and storage media) and standard software (e.g., word processing, graphics packages, spreadsheets/databases)

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay range for Associate: $48,450 - $65,550
