Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Industrial Security Manager 2 to work in our Dulles, VA, location. This position manages several program security teams, ensures security compliance with government and company regulations, and strives for excellence in executing security milestones across multiple security disciplines (DoD, SAP, & SCI). This position will require a direct interface with internal and external executive-level personnel and the ability to successfully manage competing priorities. This security management role oversees all aspects of security activities for the Operating Unit(OU), and guides briefed/non-briefed personnel across all functions within the facility. The Security Manager of the OU is responsible for developing and maintaining program security metrics and interfacing with the Leadership Team.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations.
- Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies.
- Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials.
- Develops and implements security education program. Oversees internal security audits. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
- Provides direction to security team members to assist with executing their statement of work. Assist with team members' professional development and growth.
- Leading a team of security professionals to ensure consistent application of the leadership characteristics that are expected of all employees within the organization.
- Ensuring employee engagement across the team.
- Collaboration across teams within the Security organization.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and professional development/mentoring to professionals at all levels.
- Developing and implementing security policy and standards across the program.
- Ensuring all program performance objectives and key milestones and deliverables are met.
- Manage program security compliance and operations across multiple functions- PHYSEC, COMSEC, PERSEC, Investigations and Document Control Management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and have an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance at time of application.
- Bachelors degree with 8 years of related experience; or Masters degree with 6 Years of related experience with ; an additional 4 years of applicable work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Knowledge and familiarity with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), as well as DoD Manuals, and other US Government security manuals.
- Experience managing multiple function teams across the program enterprise.
- Ability to effectively engage with team members on task completion
- Ability to recognize opportunities and take independent action at resolving challenges
- Excellent communication, writing and organization skills, enabling effective communications with team members, fellow employees and government officials.
- Strong skills in team building
- Strong skills in educating and mentoring team members
Salary Range: $125,500.00 - $188,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
