Job Title: Certified Surgical Scrub Technologist
Job Summary: Responsible for providing an optimal surgical environment for patients and surgeons, within the sterile and un-sterile environment. Previous ASC experience preferred but not required. Sterile Processing experience is a plus.

Essential Functions of the Position:
- Prepares the surgical suite before each case
- Gathers all necessary equipment and supplies in preparation for the case
- Opens sterile supplies properly
- Organizes the sterile field for use
- Completes necessary counting of sponges, sharps, etc.
- Assists and observes team members during entry to the sterile field
- Drapes the surgical site with sterile drapes
- Assists the surgeon during the case
- Passes proper instrumentation, equipment and supplies to the surgeon and surgical assistant
- Handles obtained specimens properly
- Applies dressing
- Maintains the sterile field throughout the case and until the patient is transported out of the OR
- Removes used instruments, equipment and supplies from the OR at the completion of the case
- Maintains instruments, equipment and supplies
- Assists with the transferring and positioning of patients, when possible
- Maintains all required regulatory training and participates in mandatory drills
- Annual Risk Management education
- Annual OSHA training
- Quarterly fire drills
- Competencies, when required
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs.
- Must stand for long periods of time
- Mentally alert to response and react to surgeons request
- Ability to bend, lift, pull and push at medium work force
Occupational Exposure:
- High risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards.
Job Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Certification required at time of hire
- CST certification, BLS
- Current in CPR
- 1 years experience required
