Summary
The HR Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and providing directional support on day-to-day activities related to Ryder’s pre/post employment background screening program.
This position ensures the integrity, reliability and validity of all pre/post employment background employment screening processes for U.S. and Canada applicants and employees.
This position supervises all daily activities for pre/post employment background processes to include supervising staff and responsibility for ensuring Government and State compliance as related to employment screening.
Position is responsible for performing compliance reviews; background adjudications; the development, maintenance and management of policies and procedures; compiling metrics and analytics to measure and guide performance expectation and program enhancements; and other related responsibilities to ensure compliance with employment background screening requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises and leads the day to day activities of the pre-employment services team.
Supervises pre-employment services processes to ensure customer requirements are met for background checks within the required service level agreement (SLA).
Oversees background check process to ensure that all data is accurate prior to releasing to recruiters.
Oversees the background policy and Fair Credit Reporting Act Compliance.
Oversees the US and Canada adjudication process to include temp labor
Provides training on pre-employment services for background to Recruitment.
Supervises vendor integration for background processing within Recruitment applicant tracking system.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and administers new business start up process for background services.
Conducts employee training and development.
Ensures recordkeeping of background checks, drug tests and MVR’s (DOT) for compliance with the pre-employment service process.
Generates reports and metrics for background process to measure volume, turnaround time and compliance with SLA to include: background checks, MVR’s and drug tests.
Manages background check vendors.
Responsible for special projects as assigned.
Provides guidance to HR and Recruitment for compliance with background check practices.
Interprets policies and procedures for background checks to include DOT regulations and Ban the Box rules
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
EXPERIENCE
• Five (5) years or more experience in managing employment background checks, including criminal, MVR, education, employment, Drug & Alcohol, etc.
• Supervising teams and processes
• Advance knowledge of full-cycle pre-post employment background screening processes
• Knowledge of Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requirements; EEO Guidelines for individualized assessments and State and Federal background screening regulations, advanced level
• Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems for Recruitment.; advanced level.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).; advanced level.
Knowledge of DOT regulatory requirements for background checks and motor vehicle records; advanced level.

Compensation ranges for the position are below:

$75,000.00The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
