Job Description:

We are looking for a Marketing Manager who will report to the Director of Wealth & Insurance.  In this role, you are at the forefront of team’s priorities, workflows and Client engagement strategies. You will use data and insights to create a hypothesis, communicate strategy, develop tactics, and drive the concept to market. You will steer analytics and insights to deliver results and translate them into impact statements, concluding one idea while catalyzing another.

As a senior leader within the team, your work directly shapes team capacity and business goal achievement. Throughout delivery, you will actively manage stakeholder expectations (timelines, target setting, performance optimization, and impact reports), pivoting delivery to maximize value creation.  You have a sense of curiosity about clients, their behaviour, articulated and unarticulated needs. You’ll work with work with a dynamic team to take on exciting initiatives that answer the challenge: "How can we better engage our Clients in taking action to reach their financial and retirement goals”. Together, we’ll build marketing strategies that will keep Sun Life ahead of the curve and support the Wealth business.

What will you do?

Business Management

  • Own and develop marketing strategies that support key priorities.  
  •  Lead and develop annual, quarterly and monthly business reviews on key initiatives 
  • Report results and elevate to impact statements (key drivers, key actions)
  •  Translate business asks into marketing strategies. Design Client engagement strategies to solve business problems or achieve business objectives. Socialize the strategies with stakeholders and subject matter experts to solicit feedback 

Performance Marketing

  • Champion a continuous improvement mindset across all marketing and client engagement performance levers (copy, design, capabilities, data linkages, UX, targeting)
  • Implement Behavioural Economic principles to deliver a strong A/B pipeline
  • Report on program or campaign successes with relevant data, insights and benchmarks.

Marketing Delivery & Flawless Execution

  • Drive end-to-end delivery (ideation to execution) of client engagement campaigns across email, web, mobile, and call centre by leveraging data to create optimized target segments
  • Manage, create (copy write, build in AEM) and curate marketing content through Creative Design and UX Design teams
  • Contribute to ideation / brainstorming to build innovative marketing solutions. 

Leadership

  • Lead and live your work with an Owner’s Mindset (believe that your ideas and contributions matter)
  • Champion the agile process (data-informed strategies that create unique Client and Organizational value) across partners network
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in working across a cross functional team.
  • Contribute to ideation / brainstorming to build innovative marketing solutions. 

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to produce best-in-class effective marketing outputs.
  • Collaborate with agile marketing teams on creative themes and communication to deploy via electronic, web, print or video media.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (campaign briefing, post-campaign presentations & reporting)
  • Strong partnering and influencing approach to build and maintain relationships within Marketing and with key business partners
  • Experience developing effective marketing strategies that drive measurable results through creative marketing ideas and solutions based on client and advisor insight
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply insights about client and advisor journeys to identify marketing and business opportunities, track and report marketing effectiveness metrics
  • Experience working in agile environment
  • Knowledge of financial services industry, clients, products, services, distribution channels 

What will be nice to have?

  • 6-8 years of tier 1 marketing experience with strong experience in digital marketing
  • Experience owning or contributing towards a P&L
  • Familiar with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager), Tableau, and Wrike

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
