We are looking for you to join our team as a Department Manager based out of San Diego, CA. As an Engineering & Sciences Department Manager at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You'll Get to Do:

The SE Manager 3 will be responsible for the functional management and program assignment of approximately 200 cross-discipline engineering personnel assigned to Emerging Capabilities Development and the Advanced Network Solutions Operating Unit. 

The candidate’s duties will include:

  • Conducting performance assessments, staffing, employee development, communication meetings, compensation adjustments, training & educational oversight/ approval and other routine personnel issues
  • Assessing, prioritizing and adjusting staffing to current and projected program needs
  • Facilitating engineering support, review and approval of Bid & Proposal (B&P) requests
  • Supporting program gate reviews as the engineering review authority, and assist in resolution of program engineering challenges (technical, financial, and staffing)
  • Coordinating across programs and functions for common efficiencies and operational gains
  • Making decisions that impact the organization, operations, and services
  • Comprehending and analyzing complex problems and developing solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field and 9 years of experience or Master's Degree in a STEM field and 7 years of experience
  • Experience in leading functional engineering teams
  • Experience in managing an engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) performing contract SOW tasks with responsibility for the planning, execution, cost control, scheduling, risk management, and technical performance
  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain higher levels of clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leading a team of managers
  • An advanced degree in STEM degree
  • DoD Top Secret and/or SAP clearance
  • 10+ Years experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Program management experience, ability to effectively influence stake holders across a matrix organization and the customer community

Salary Range: $180,600.00 - $271,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
