Position Summary
The mission of the Safety surveillance & Collaboration (SS&C) team, CVS HealthspireTM Life Sciences Solutions, is to actively monitor the US public health in collaboration with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and collaborate with academic institutions and other health insurance companies on RWE research.
The SS&C team conducts observational research, medical chart review validations, and pragmatic research using the FDA Sentinel Common Data Model (SCDM), Sentinel and Distributed Research Network (DRN) tools, Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) CDM, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Initiative (PCORI) CDM, and Aetna’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
The Associate Epidemiologist will support SS&C activities related to scientific knowledge expansion and decision making. The role will assist in conducting literature reviews, study documentation management, and execution of analyses. The role is expected to review and quality control written reports and provide training presentations to internal team.
Required Qualifications
5+ years in epidemiologic research, healthcare analytics, pharmacovigilance, and/or outcomes research using Real World Datasets
Applied experience in government, academic, and/or industry scientific collaborations
5+ years of healthcare experience using insurance claims, or electronic health records
6+ years of Microsoft Word, Excel experience
4+ years of SAS & SQL
Ability and motivation to complete tasks before deadlines
Strong collaborative attitude and desire to impact healthcare
Problem-solving abilities
Great organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Public Health/ Epidemiology
Experience with research and healthcare analytics
5+ years of health research, data management and analytics
Advanced scientific writing skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Experience working with claims-based real-world dataset
This is a hybrid role and it's required to go into the office 3 days a week in Blue Bell, PA
Education
Master of Science in Epidemiology, health analytics, health informatics, or similar degree
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$79,310.00 - $158,620.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
