This exciting role is responsible for running the office of the Adviser Chief Distribution Officer, focusing on strategic priorities and delivering on a wide spectrum of responsibilities effectively and efficiently. The role reports to the CDO, and works closely with all members of the leadership team.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting day to day duties ensuring the CDO is fully briefed in readiness to represent the organisation and adviser business at all internal and external meetings.
Working in partnership with the CDO to maximise their output through the first-class delivery of delegated responsibilities.
Oversee coordination of all reporting from programmes, projects, and departments, prepare pre-meeting briefings, and ensure actions are completed.
Oversee sales reporting and outputs across various governance meetings: Adviser Growth Forum, SLSL (platform) board reporting, aPSL (MPS) Investment Oversight Group and MPS Growth Forum.
Lead on regular financial forecasting and annual budgeting covering flows, FTE and non-staff costs on behalf of CDO.
Supporting CDO on discharging SMF responsibilities aPSL and SLSL.
Ensure quality briefings are in place for all key meetings and internal/external events.
Attend and facilitate appropriate internal and external meetings with the CDO, providing the necessary level of preparation and governance, on time and to a quality standard suitable for board, ELT and Adviser Executive level meetings.
Support delivery of key strategic projects and initiatives and act as a representative on wider Group projects to ensure that the Adviser business views and priorities are considered.
Build and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with abrdn Executive and Adviser Leadership team
Continue to build the CDO’s personal brand both internally and externally through leading or reviewing all written communications in the CDO’s name.
Provide general Executive support when required including being point of liaison, access, and escalation to the CDO.
Skills and Experience Required:
Good relationship management skills with a track record of being able to effectively influence, collaborate and constructively challenge stakeholders at all levels
Strong verbal and written communicator with an ability to make the complex simple and engage both technical and non-technical audiences using a variety of mediums
Exceptional commercial awareness
Skilled in analysing the appropriate data and KPIs to support and identify themes/ trends to make fact-based decision making
Dedication to robust, timely and consistent delivery of agreed outcomes
Self-sufficient, driven and able to work on own initiative
Organises, prioritises and delegate work to efficiently accomplish tasks and meet objectives.
No direct budgetary responsibility, but will work directly with the CDO and Finance to review and monitor monthly MI reporting and budget setting & business planning process.
