Speech Language Pathologist - Per Diem Milstein/Allen Hospital

At NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center our Speech-Language Pathologists help adult patients experiencing serious impairments to connect with the world around them. Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology, you will work with adult and geriatric patients from the most acutely ill in our ICU/acute care units, the inpatient rehabilitation unit, to the outpatient setting. This position will be at the Milstein and Allen Hospital location.

This is a per diem position with flexibility to work weekends/holidays from 8:30-4:30pm. Preferred days Mon/Fri, Sat/Sun, 2 holidays per year required.

Preferred Criteria

• Experience assessing and treating medically complex adult patients
• Experience providing communication and dysphagia intervention for patients with tracheostomy 
• Competency performing Modified Barium Swallow Study and/or Flexible Endoscopy of Swallowing

Required Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Pathology Association
• New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Adult experience in inpatient and rehabilitation hospital setting
• Experience in dysphagia evaluation/treatment
