Ingredion is looking for a motivated Purchasing Intern to join our Purchasing team and gain hands-on experience in a global, collaborative environment. This role offers the opportunity to support key purchasing operations while developing foundational skills in procurement, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration.

As a Purchasing Intern, you will support the Purchasing Department by executing transactional purchasing activities while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

This role reports to the Associate Manager, Purchasing USCA, and works closely with Procurement Operations, Accounts Payable, and other Buyers.

What will you do: 

• Process Purchase Orders based on approved Purchase Requisitions.
• Work to meet established KPI targets.
• Communicate with suppliers, when needed, to follow up on Purchase Orders and ensure timely deliveries.
• Maintain supplier contact information in internal systems and coordinate with Vendor Management to update vendor data when required.
• Ensure compliance with key purchasing policies and procedures.
• Liaise with Procurement Operations to resolve issues, risks, and dependencies related to Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, vendor communications, and vendor invoices.
• Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.

What you will bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Any prior procurement or purchasing experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
