Join us as a Supply Chain Operations Manager

  • You’ll support, develop and deliver supply chain solutions that enable the sourcing teams to give the bank a competitive advantage, improves the customer experience and aligns with the bank’s cost and risk appetite expectations
  • We’ll look to you to lead and deliver process efficiencies, improve the overall TAT and support the team to deliver continuous improvements
  • It’s a high-profile role, which will see you developing a network across senior levels of the bank
  • We're offering this role at vice president level

What you'll do

In this key role, you’ll manage the supply chain operations teams to enable them with the accurate and timely deliveries so they can liaise with the suppliers during the onboarding process in the sourcing platform along with the qualification process. You’ll also work with suppliers on behalf of the sourcing teams to get the Non-disclosure Agreements signed ahead of the sourcing activity.

We’ll look to you to support the sourcing teams on the sourcing process such as e-Auctions management, data review and analytics support, contracts database review.

In addition, you’ll:

  • Validate the contracts master to see the expiry status of contracts and proactively engage with the sourcing teams for them to initiate the relevant actions
  • Lead and manage the e-Auctions and submit the outcome along with the sourcing teams to take sourcing decisions
  • Review the purchasing transactions that were not approved by Supply Chain or cross check if the correct process was not followed and take necessary actions to remediate to keep the bank safe
  • Be responsible for people management, creating a performance culture to work in collaboration with the other teams

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need knowledge of contract law and legal knowledge relevant to supply chain. You’ll also have experience of applying supply chain skills and techniques to impact business strategy and outcomes, category management, contract negotiation and management, supplier selection and management.

We’ll expect you to have experience in cost and financial management and ideally hold a degree or be working towards a relevant professional qualification such as CIPS or equivalent.

We’ll also expect you to have:

  • Experience in leading, developing and supporting strategic or business critical supplier relationships and contracts to deliver sustainable improvements 
  • Experience of the design and implementation of a variety of supply chain models, such as offshoring, outsourcing, utility and make versus buy 
  • Experience of process standardisation and simplification and continuous improvements
  • A proven track record in taking ownership for resolving issues within supply chain services and across the organisation
