Circle K in Denmark is looking for an experienced Tax controller to join our Global Tax team based in Denmark.

To strengthen our tax team in Denmark, we are looking for a skilled Tax controller who can help ensure that indirect taxes are reported correctly within the deadlines that apply to Circle K in Denmark. You will work closely with the tax manager in Denmark, who is responsible for all taxes and excise duties within Denmark, and with employees in our Shared Service office in Riga, Latvia where preparation of VAT reporting is carried out. The Tax controller is responsible for ensuring correct bookkeeping and timely reporting of indirect taxes under supervision of the Tax Manager.

Responsibilities and tasks:

• Review of various tax returns prepared by colleagues in our Shared Service Centre.

• Support the preparation and filling of excise duty returns.

• Carry out internal controls, make suggestions for simplification or further development of these.

• Support in indirect tax matters

• Participate in projects where indirect taxes are affected

• Assist with internal or external audits of indirect taxes in Denmark

• Stay informed on changes in regulations and legal requirements in the field of indirect taxes

• Assisting the Tax Manager in general

Features:

We are looking for you who are precise in your work, as well as able to perform work tasks independently and are analytical by nature. You are a person who can easily familiarize yourself with new tasks and have good implementation skills. You must be able to see the big picture, but also be able to analyze at a detailed level:

• Have the ability to structure and handle large amounts of data

• Meet deadlines

• Large working capacity with the ability to handle stress and many balls in the air at the same time

• Distinct team player with good interpersonal skills, but can work independently

• High ethical standards and integrity

• Flexible and service-minded

• Be able to express themselves just as well and clearly verbally, as in writing

Your profile:

• Higher or University education in finance or similar

• At least 5 years of experience in finance or accounting teams where VAT is handled

• Experience and knowledge of indirect taxes

• Experience in excise duties is considered a pré

• Experience from ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards or similar systems

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially excel and powerpoint)

• Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing

• Must be fluent in Danish and English orally and in writing

The position reports to the Tax Manager in Denmark.
