We are looking for a Java Integration Engineer in Tokyo, Japan to join a project team that help deliver a leading surveillance product.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop, troubleshooting and implement solutions to Nasdaq Market Surveillance

  • Reviews system requirements and business processes.

  • Participate in technical design, functional specification reviews, develop project estimates, schedules, test plans, and code reviews.

  • Support external clients across the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and definition of requirements through customer testing and production support.

  • Proactively identify and resolve potential problems/issues including authoring of technical specifications.

  • Determines systems software design requirements.

  • Provides application software development services or technical support typically for more challenging assignments.

  • Work independently and with autonomy while collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals across the globe.

  • Participates in IT systems strategy, development and /or integrations services to clients.

What We Expect

  • Have Degree qualified in Computer Science, Business/Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering using Java.

  • Experience working in financial institutions is highly preferred but not required

  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc..) is nice to have.

  • Special Qualifications: Maintains professional association memberships.  Specialized development in business acumen, financial, and critical thinking.

  • Native proficiency in Japanese, with good English communication skills

  • This is a 2-year fixed term contract (with potential for extension depending on the business needs)
