Job Description:

As a member of the HR senior management team, the HR Business Partner is responsible for supporting the organization’s planning and development, resource / workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, talent acquisition, development & retention; establishing a strong employer brand and driving a high performance culture that is client-focused.  Lead the delivery of various HR services/support and programmes to meet the business needs and growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

Business Advisory & Delivery of HR Support

  • Delivery HR advisory service and provide full spectrum of HR services to assigned business divisions within the company
  • Define and implement a structural but agile HRBP model to tackle people management issues and provides advice and support on people strategy and solve any staff related issues
  • Provide guidance, advice to business decisions impacting people, in order to maximize company performance, morale and productivity.
  • Work and lead HR strategic projects such as Target Operating Model, partnership alliances and compliance / legal & regulatory related topics
  • Work closely with business to implement organization change management. Develop and execute change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during business changes and ensuring employee engagement.

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Support and facilitate the talent management agenda for leadership positions and succession planning for management roles
  • Enhance staff mobility across Sun Life businesses and cross entities and boundaries if appropriate
  • Work with HR Centre of Excellence (CoE) to cultivate development mindset and support talent on their development path
  • Provide manpower / resourcing related information to and partner with Talent Acquisition team to develop proactive, diverse and effective resourcing strategies and programmes to attract talent
  • Support business to source, select, and hire talent in external market with appropriate skills and experience in a cost effective way

Employee Engagement & Performance Culture

  • Works with the Head of HR Hong Kong to instill and foster a culture of high performance, accountability and recognition
  • Facilitate a high performance culture in reward management and drive for differentiation
  • Build a performance-driven culture by deploying an effective performance management mechanism which helps to identify & facilitate development of solid performer whilst properly support the business in managing low performers and obsolete capabilities
  • Facilitate and support initiatives to engage and inspire employees to consistently contribute their best and work with business leaders to drive employee engagement level across the organization

Experience

  • University degree, preferably in business related discipline or psychology
  • Minimum 10+ years relevant Human Resources experience preferably gained in financial industry with hands on experience in business advisory
  • Leadership presence with strong prioritization skills
  • Good understanding of the latest development in various HR practices in the area of organization design and structure, performance management, talent development and succession planning, employee relationship and engagement, talent acquisition and reward management. 
  • Ability to engage stakeholders at senior level and strong communication and influencing skills
  • Deep and thorough knowledge of HR generalist and functional areas. Ability to address varied problems when managing the execution process and deal with different stakeholders including C-Suite level and above.
