Summary: The MIST AP Senior Analyst is responsible for the deployment, administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Juniper/Mist Wireless Access Point (AP) infrastructure. This role involves advanced Wi-Fi operations, AI-driven network optimization, RF tuning, and ensuring high-performance wireless connectivity across the enterpris Roles & Responsibilities: -Administer and support Mist Wireless Access Points and the Mist Cloud platform. -Manage site configurations, WLAN policies, SSIDs, and device templates. -Monitor and maintain AP health, coverage, and performance. -Oversee firmware upgrades, version management, and configuration baselines. -Perform RF planning, heat mapping, and coverage analysis (Ekahau/Airmagnet preferred). -Analyze SNR, RSSI, channel utilization, and interference to tune performance. -Optimize roaming, band steering, client load balancing, and throughput for different user/device types. -Address issues related to latency, packet loss, and radio optimization. -AI-Driven Network Insights -Use Mist AI features—including Marvis—to identify anomalies, user experience gaps, and performance bottlenecks. -Leverage AI-driven root cause analysis to reduce MTTR and enhance wireless reliability. -Create dashboards and insight reports for leadership and IT operations. Act as the L3 escalation point for Wi-Fi connectivity issues. Troubleshoot client authentication failures, DHCP/DNS issues, and radius connectivity problems. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring wireless incidents. Work closely with network, security, and endpoint teams to resolve cross-functional issues. -Configure wireless security protocols (WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X, PSK, PPSK). -Integrate Mist with NAC, RADIUS/AAA, Active Directory, and identity platforms. -Implement secure guest access and BYOD workflows. -Ensure wireless compliance with organizational security standards. Utilize Mist APIs for automation, provisioning, dashboards, and integrations. Develop scripts in Python or similar languages for automated tasks. Ensure network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs are always up to date. -Monitor service levels, user experience metrics, and network SLAs. -Generate periodic performance, capacity, and incident reports. -Provide recommendations for wireless improvements and future capacity planning. Professional & Technical Skills: -Hands-on experience with Juniper Mist Wi-Fi, Mist Cloud Dashboard, and Marvis AI. -Strong understanding of: -802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax wireless standards -WLAN controllers and cloud-managed wireless architectures -RF fundamentals (power, attenuation, interference, modulation, channels) -Experience with NAC (ISE/ClearPass), RADIUS/AAA, DHCP, DNS. -Strong packet-level troubleshooting using Wireshark or similar tools. -Familiarity with switching technologies (VLANs, PoE, LLDP). -Knowledge of Python, REST APIs, and automation best practices (optional but preferred). -Hands-on with Mist AP deployments. -Preferred Certifications: Mist AI Certification / Mist WLA Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Network Security Operations. - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
