Introduction

The DUV Global Support Center (GSC) is part of ASML’s Development & Engineering organization and provides third‑line support for all deep‑ultraviolet lithography systems worldwide. The team supports thousands of systems running in a 24/7 environment and works closely with field locations across several regions. This internship helps the GSC improve proactive support by identifying machine behavior that may indicate future issues. You will contribute directly to our global service capability while gaining insight into complex system performance. The work you deliver will support fast, data‑driven decision‑making across our field teams.
 

Your assignment

You will join the GSC team and analyze system performance data to identify early warning signals. Your work supports our goal to detect trends that indicate when machines may require deeper investigation. You will develop data‑driven methods that allow our teams to take preventive actions worldwide.
Your main responsibilities will be:

• Analyze system data to identify new early warning trends.

• Build and test models that support proactive issue detection.

• Develop clear logic to determine when machines reach critical thresholds.

• Translate analytical insights into actionable alerts for field teams.

This is a master’s thesis internship for a minimum of 7 months, 3 days per week. The start of this internship is projected at the end of August 2026.
 

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

• Are pursuing a master’s degree in data science, artificial intelligence, informatics or computer science.

• Have experience with Python and SQL for data analysis.

• Enjoy working with large datasets and solving analytical challenges.

• Are collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment.

• Communicate clearly in English.

Other requirements you need to meet:

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;

• You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.

• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
