Automotive Student Assistant

Administration and Planning | TTM Vehicle Repair Fuel and Maintenance-JM

We are seeking motivated students to assist in our automotive shop. This role provides hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, shop organization, and basic automotive repair tasks under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist technicians with basic automotive tasks

  • Perform shop cleanup and organization

  • Help with tire changes, oil services, and basic inspections

  • Maintain tools and equipment (cleaning, organizing, returning items)

  • Assist the parts department with organizing inventory, stocking shelves, and retrieving parts for technicians

  • Help track and label parts as needed

  • Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines

  • Support team members with general shop duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at Ft. Hayes Vocational school through Columbus City Schools

  • Interest in automotive repair or mechanics

  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Ability to work in a team environment

Skills

  • Basic mechanical aptitude (preferred, not required)

  • Ability to lift up to 30–50 pounds

  • Attention to detail

  • Good communication skills

Students will need to provide all applicable minor work permit paperwork including parental permission.

Students need to be able to provide their own transportation.
