  • Full Time/Part Time: Full-time, 32hrs/week
  • Available shifts: Rotating 8 or 10hr shifts
  • Required Travel: Must be willing to travel to other NorthShore sites

Description

The ASU/PACU Registered Nurse is accountable for providing high-quality, individualized, goal-directed care for patients of all age levels and their families throughout the Perioperative continuum of care:  Pre-op, PACU phase I, and PACU phase II.

License/Certification

  • Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse Licensure
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification
  • AHA ACLS preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • AHA PALS preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • CPAN/CAPA certification preferred

Education/Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • At least one year of experience as a staff nurse
  • ASC, Pre-op, PACU, ICU, Telemetry, Acute Care inpatient surgical nursing preferred
  • Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills
  • Communicates effectively and is able to guide non-nursing personnel

What you will do:

  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
  • Manage day to day clinical operations and unit workflow/throughput
  • Would assume direct patient care if necessary
  • Be accountable for the outcomes of care for patients in a specific clinical care area(s)
  • Guide and direct a team of care-givers in providing high quality, individualized care to the patient and family, while preparing them for discharge
  • Guides staff development by teaching, mentoring and counseling with new and experienced staff, for both clinical and customer loyalty skills
