The Senior Director of Investment Strategy & Operations will create division-level investment planning and strategies, lead quarterly investment planning and category investment allocations, and direct promotional and marketing strategies with ROI-based prioritization and recommendations.

This role will report directly to the SVP of Product Management for the Mobile Division and will work cross-organizationally across all teams at SEA, particularly with sales and marketing, business planning and operations, category management, and finance teams.

Role and Responsibilities

Overall Divisional Investment Planning and Management:

  • Owner of promotional and marketing spend for division
  • Develop strategic and operational plans, manage execution, measure and deliver results to meet or exceed division goals
  • Lead divisional quarterly business reviews to identify and execute gap closure plans by category and account
  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan promotion and marketing spend allocation to maximize ROI and alignment with company and strategic goals
  • Create, own, and execute cross-division quarterly business and promotion planning across all teams and product lines
  • Create promotional strategy framework by channel and carrier, leveraging opportunity areas at individual channels to tailor promotions by product line with corresponding marketing plans
  • Closely partner with category business operation teams to validate business plans, ROI, and forecasts

Product Lifecycle Investment Planning and Strategy:

  • Manage spend to revenue by product category, setting optimal marketing and promotional spend by account according to strategic priorities and channel opportunities to gain market share and maximize revenue
  • Deliver a comprehensive strategy to improve spend efficiency and promotional investments to create annual/quarterly/monthly promotional strategies by product according to device lifecycle
  • Develop external-facing promotional strategy and planning framework by channel based on analysis of cost to acquire and retain, new line and upgrade costs, and customer lifetime value
  • Develop, own and direct annual device investment calendar across all product lines to determine optimal level and mix of spend across product life cycle, including clear phased investments across launch, sustain, and EOL
  • Create category investment allocations by channel for promotional, marketing, and partnership funds

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field and 15+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis or sales program development
  • Proven track record of leading investment allocation for a complex product portfolio
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Experience managing large budgets with the ability to explain investment allocation tied to short- and long-term business growth
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively engage senior executives
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive work experience in financial planning and analysis or sales program development
  • Strong financial and general accounting knowledge, with FP&A background
  • Strong experience in managing and tracking promotional spend and relevant metrics
  • Experience in data visualization (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, other) and data storage and management (SQL, Microsoft Access, etc.)
