Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Principal Software Architect to advance our Middle Office platform through hands-on technical leadership, architectural design, and strategic engineering direction. The tech stack is Java with some Python, and JavaScript. We are looking for a solid engineer who can drive good design, scalability, and testing.

As a technical leader, you will mentor colleagues, champion engineering best practices, and set standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance features, enhancing both new products and existing solutions.

• Collaborate with other architects and LiquidityBook teams to ensure cohesive designs and products

• Define and promote engineering strategy, standards, and best practices across the organization.

• Mentor and support other engineers, fostering technical growth and excellence.

• Drive system modernization initiatives in performance, reliability, and maintainability, including refactoring and technology upgrades.

• Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions, and problem resolution to ensure consistently high-quality deliverables.

• Drive automated testing practices

• Lead by example through hands-on coding and detailed technical contributions.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on both backend and frontend development

• Proven experience architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems.

• Track record of setting technical direction and mentoring engineering teams.

• Outstanding problem-solving and communication skills.

• Bachelors degree in computer science or relevant

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial trading application development, especially with OMS, EMS, or similar systems.

• Fullstack developer, experienced with Java

• Familiarity with high-performance/low-latency architectures

• Knowledge of trading workflows or FIX protocol

• Leadership in driving system modernization and technology evolution in enterprise environments.
