We are looking for an experienced leader to build the Content Policy function of the Trust and Safety team. This person will own internal and external policy development for our global safety efforts across our AI products. As the leader and founding member of the Content Policy team, you will be involved in all aspects of the team, including building out the team charter, launching new policy frameworks, growing the team and building relationships across the company. This person must be an effective leader in the swift and effective resolution of sensitive, nuanced, and high-priority escalations originating from both internal and external stakeholders while also thinking long term in developing policies and guidelines that reflect our values. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with product, legal, research, and engineering teams, own individual policy projects, and contribute to long-term strategic initiatives aimed to keep our AI products welcoming for everyone. This role will start as an individual contributor but you will have the opportunity to build a team. This role reports to the Head of Trust and Safety.
What you’ll do
Solve complex, nuanced policy challenges using research, industry standards, internal data and prior industry experience
Draft, review, and secure executive alignment on internal and external policies for our model enforcement and content moderation teams to apply effectively and equitably.
Provide nuanced policy guidance for time-sensitive escalations
Guide policy operationalization efforts in partnership with stakeholders across the business.
Gather data and insight to prioritize and execute on content policy projects
Launch Community Standards
What you’ll bring
7+ years of experience working in Trust & Safety, with at least 5 years working in and leading content or community policy teams
Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking, and rigorous approach to research, and analysis
A steady hand during a crisis and a proven ability to drive alignment and consensus.
Exceptional verbal and written communication with experience engaging with all levels of leadership, including senior executive audiences and C-Suite.
Principled, precise and have meticulous attention to detail.
Able to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple concurrent projects
Nice to Have
Experience in content policy creation in the consumer AI space
Working knowledge of SQL
Advanced degree in relevant field (e.g., JD, MA, Public Policy)
Experience working closely with operations teams
