Strategic Sales Director - Enterprise (Greater Tokyo Metropolitan Area)

Vimeo is seeking a highly accomplished and Strategic Sales Director to lead our Enterprise sales efforts and drive significant revenue growth in Japan. In this direct sales quota-carrying role, you will be responsible for penetrating and expanding Vimeo's Enterprise Video Platform within some of the largest and most influential organizations in Japan. This is a leadership position that demands a proven track record of success in selling complex SaaS solutions to enterprise clients, as well as the ability to build and execute strategic sales plans, mentor a team, and contribute to Vimeo's overall growth in the region. We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented leader with a passion for video technology and a deep understanding of the Japanese enterprise market.

(Must be currently residing in the Greater Tokyo Metropolitan Area.)

What you'll do:

  • Consistently exceed sales quota targets by driving the adoption of Vimeo's Enterprise Video Platform within strategic enterprise accounts in Japan.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to generate new business and expand Vimeo's footprint within existing enterprise customers through upselling and cross-selling complementary products and services.
  • Articulate Vimeo's unique value proposition to C-level executives and key stakeholders, confidently handling objections and positioning Vimeo as a strategic partner for their video communication needs.
  • Position Vimeo's solutions effectively against contending offerings in the marketplace, highlighting our key differentiators and competitive advantages.
  • Spearhead prospecting and outbound sales efforts to drive new pipeline generation, collaborating effectively with Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to maximize lead qualification and conversion.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for account expansion by strategically upselling and cross-selling additional Vimeo products/services, aligning solutions with clients' evolving business objectives.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with leading brands and media companies in Japan, understanding their unique challenges and providing tailored solutions to address their online video needs.
  • Maintain meticulous CRM data and ensure pipeline accuracy within Salesforce, providing accurate forecasting and reporting to sales leadership.
  • Lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional colleagues across sales, marketing, product, and customer success to generate pipeline, execute strategic campaigns, and achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and coaching to sales team members, fostering a high-performing sales culture and contributing to the development of future sales leaders.

Skills and knowledge you possess:

  • 8+ years of experience selling enterprise SaaS solutions and innovative technologies into large organizations in Japan, with a consistent and verifiable track record of overachievement.
  • Deep knowledge of the online video ecosystem, including live streaming, advertising, marketing technologies, analytics, and technology companies, with a strong understanding of industry trends and competitive dynamics.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various video buying personas within enterprise organizations, such as Marketing, Corporate Communications, Learning & Development, and HR, with the ability to tailor sales strategies to specific decision-makers.
  • Mastery and consistent execution of a proven sales methodology, such as MEDDPICC, with the ability to effectively navigate complex enterprise sales cycles.
  • A strong belief in a customer-centric selling philosophy and a consultative approach, prioritizing building long-term relationships and delivering exceptional value to clients.
  • Proven experience introducing new concepts and building excellent client relationships at the C-level within large enterprise organizations, demonstrating the ability to influence and persuade key decision-makers.
  • Exceptional account planning and territory management expertise, with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans to maximize revenue generation and market penetration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, time management, organizational, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in both Japanese and English.
