The Opportunity:
As the Lead Scrum Master for DEAMS, you will be a servant leader acting as a scrum master for one team, and you will provide coaching and mentoring to other scrum masters.  You will work closely with Agile Coaches, Architects, and the RTE, to coach your agile team and other scrum masters to deliver value.

Responsibilities:

Perform duties of a scrum master on an agile team including:

  • Participate in all SAFe events including PI Planning, I&A, Scrum of Scrums and System Demo and follow-up on improvement items.
  • Coach your team on Summarizing and Communicating team Program Increment Objectives 
  • Help your team establish a DevOps culture and mindset, the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, infrastructure, and associated Agile technical practices.
  • Facilitate planning and execution of work during a Program Increment through team events including sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos
  • Facilitate backlog refinement by collaborating with the product owners and functional SMEs.
  • Identify, Remove and/or Escalate impediments to flow, and foster culture of continuous improvement
  • Help the team assess capacity and collect appropriate PI metrics around Outcomes, Flow and Competency

Provide leadership and coaching to scrum masters:

  • On all scrum master duties listed above
  • Manage, coach and mentor scrum masters on the ART
  • Socialize and drive new concepts and communicate upcoming changes and refine metrics to foster a culture of continuous improvement 
  • Using the principles of SAFe, coach and lead scrum masters, enable product delivery, and benefit the overall program


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and seven (7) years of related experience
  • Three (3) years of Scrum Master experience
  • Certified SAFe 6 Scrum Master (SSM)
  • Exemplify a lean agile mindset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills 
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment 
  • Ability to pass a Tier 1 background check


Desired:

  • Experience managing people
  • Certified SAFe 6 Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)
  • Federal business experience

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100-$172,400
