Finance and Corporate Functions Solutions is an organization with a focus on delivering Finance and Corporate function capabilities to support digital transformation. The teams are providing end to end system and process management in the area of Finance, Payroll, Treasury, Indirect Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quote to Cash, supporting Tax, Controllership and overall Finance within HP Inc.

The FinCorp Projects and Portfolio Management team provides project management leadership for projects impacting finance systems and processes, many of these projects are being sponsored by our various business units and partner functions, for example Controllership, Tax etc.

We are looking for PM manager to facilitate these transformation programs and lead the PM team.

Job description

In its role, the FinCorp PM Manager will be accountable for the successful implementation of the business or finance-initiated and compliance projects.  He/she will act as the main Steering Lead ensuring these projects are appropriately led through the Project life cycle – including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation by working closely – downwards and laterally – with the PM, the project team members and the rest of the Steering committee members. He/She has accountability for results of projects and programs in terms of cost, direction and people management. Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility.

Additionally, the PM Manager may apply advanced subject matter knowledge to manage PM activities in solving common and complex issues within established policies.

He/She manages non-exempt/exempt individual contributors and/or supervisors. Plans, manages and monitors operational/tactical activities of PMs.

He/She also acts as a Resource Manager, ensuring the new projects are being staffed with the right PMs in terms on knowledge, experience and workload.

The PM Manager manages and controls activities within a region which is part of a larger organization.

Other responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of individual contributors with well-defined, limited scope, overseeing day-to-day activities, with fairness and consistency in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Engages in setting up performance objectives, assembling project teams, resource allocation and ensuring the successful execution of diverse finance projects for systems and processes changes.
  • Strategizes long-term plans for systems re-design and implementation, while also leading maintenance and upgrades of financial systems.
  • Engages with the financial systems re-engineering function and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements, streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
  • Develops budgets with significant input from higher-level managers and ensures project adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Acts as subject matter expert, identifies opportunities for PM methodology improvement and policy development and recommends changes in alignment with policy & controls strategy.
  • Performs talent management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Management, Project Management, Finance, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in finance, project management, internal audit, or a related field.
  • PMP , Prince 2, Agile certifications are additional success factors
  • SAP S4 Hana consulting experience is beneficial

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Strong project management and resource planning, monitoring and execution skills
  • Customer oriented with strong customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual international environment, showing flexibility and initiative
  • Effective time management and prioritization
  • Ability to understand business scenarios and to create and execute plans that reflect this understanding
