Job Description:

Key Process & Technical Knowledge 

  • IBM ESB 

  • Design, build, and configure integration flows using IBM Integration Bus (IIB)/App Connect Enterprise (ACE). 

  • Implement message routing, transformation, and orchestration. 

  • Develop SOAP/REST APIs, JSON/XML transformations, and service mediation. 

  • Error handling, monitoring, and logging mechanisms in ESB. 

  • IBM MQ (Message Queue) 

  • Installation, configuration, and administration of IBM MQ environments. 

  • Define and manage queues, channels, topics, and subscriptions. 

  • Ensure high availability, load balancing, and clustering for MQ. 

  • Secure MQ communications using TLS, certificates, and authentication. 

  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting of message queues. 

  • Integration with SAP & Non-SAP Systems 

  • Integration of SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, and SAP S/4HANA with IBM MQ. 

  • Implementing real-time and batch integration scenarios. 

  • Experience with file adapters, JDBC, web services, and APIs. 

  • Supporting legacy systems and third-party applications connectivity. 

  • Middleware Governance & Best Practices 

  • Define naming standards, error handling frameworks, and monitoring KPIs. 

  • Implement message persistence, reliability, and guaranteed delivery. 

  • Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments. 

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management). 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and implement end-to-end integrations using IBM ESB and MQ. 

  • Configure and manage MQ objects (queues, channels, listeners). 

  • Work with SAP Integration teams (CPI/PI/PO) for system connectivity. 

  • Ensure secure, high-performance, and reliable messaging solutions. 

  • Provide production support, monitoring, and troubleshooting for MQ/ESB. 

  • Collaborate with business and technical teams for integration requirements. 

  • Prepare technical documentation, mapping specifications, and support guides. 

 

Required Qualifications & Skills 

Education & Certifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 

  • IBM Certified System Administrator – MQ / IIB / ACE (preferred). 

Experience 

  • 6+ years in middleware integration using IBM ESB/IIB/ACE and IBM MQ. 

  • At least 2 full lifecycle SAP integration projects involving IBM MQ. 

  • Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP landscapes using MQ/ESB. 

  • Strong knowledge of security, clustering, and high-availability setups. 

Technical Skills 

  • IBM ESB / Integration Bus (IIB) / App Connect Enterprise (ACE). 

  • IBM MQ – Queue Managers, clustering, HA/DR. 

  • SAP CPI/PI/PO integration with IBM MQ. 

  • REST/SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, XSLT, WSDL. 

  • Scripting (Shell, Python, Java, or similar) for automation. 

Soft Skills 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration with SAP and non-SAP teams. 

  • Ability to manage integration challenges under tight deadlines. 

  • Documentation and knowledge-sharing mindset.
