Job description

Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated Application Manager to oversee the lifecycle of critical business applications, ensuring their optimal performance, reliability, and alignment with Hitachi's strategic objectives. This role involves managing a team, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:**

* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of application specialists and support staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Manage the end-to-end application lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support for assigned applications.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize enhancements, and ensure applications effectively support business processes.
* Oversee incident management, problem resolution, and service requests related to applications, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
* Develop and maintain application documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and operational procedures.
* Manage vendor relationships for third-party applications, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and contracts are optimized.
* Monitor application performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and user experience.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and security standards for all managed applications.
* Manage application budgets, resources, and project timelines effectively.
* Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions and strategies.

Job Qualifications:**

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in application management, software development, or a related IT role.
* At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity, managing a team of IT professionals.
* Proven experience with enterprise-level applications and systems.
* Strong understanding of application development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and software development life cycle (SDLC).
* Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering application initiatives.
* Solid knowledge of ITIL framework and service management best practices.
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their application services is a plus.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and make sound decisions under pressure.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
