Transportation Analyst, Europe Surgical

The Transportation Analyst will be key role in ensuring the success and operational excellence of the Alcon European Surgical transportation network. The associate will be a Subject Matter Expert in all areas of European SX secondary transportation, focused on analysis, projects and continuous improvement.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Lead / Support surgical freight initiatives

Be the SPOC / Project Lead for several transportation topics

Budget: Support with the preparation of the annual carrier budget + monitoring

Oversee the overall shipment flows

Cross collaboration with manufacturing sites, 3PL’s providers, and distribution centers on transfers and transportation needs between sites Interface between Transportation SX and Global Transportation, APL Supply Chain HUB, EL Supply Chain / Logistics Operation, Warehouses, IT, etc.

Attend weekly orchestrator calls with the countries and stakeholders from other functions (S&OP, WH&D, Customer Operations) / lead and coordinate the transportation topics

Collaborate with our procurement team for RFQs and ad-hoc freight cost analysis Perform “ad-hoc” analysis and on-going statisticsActive participation in continuous improvement process (CIP) by completing CIP projects to drive savings towards financial targets

Measure & improve service performance (on-time, OTIF...)

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

Education (minimum/desirable): Bachelor Degree/ Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Operations or apprenticeship + advanced trainings / educations

Experience:

- Minimum 5 years supply chain / logistics experience

- Experience with freight forwarders and know-how regarding customs processes will be a plus

- Demonstrated successful interaction & communication with cross-functional teams and working with all levels of the organization

- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds

- Demonstrated analytical skills; solution oriented with a high sense of quality, attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and meeting tight deadlines

- Team player who is also able to work independently and handle conflicting priorities while maintaining consistent, quality performance standards

- Proficiency with Excel and Supply Chain systems

- Ability to manage complexity and simplify/standardize outcomes.

Languages: English – fluent written and spoken. Other European languages are a plus.
