WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

BCI manages a globally diversified portfolio of assets valued at $250.4 billion and is one of Canada’s largest institutional investors. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will work with the Strategic Asset Allocation team within our Investment Strategy & Risk department.

The Investment Strategy & Risk department plays a key role in BCI’s long-term investment strategy by influencing investment decisions made by clients, management and the asset classes. They provide economic outlooks, evaluate broad risks to the economy and financial markets, make research recommendations on new asset classes or investment strategies and help to identify and manage investment risk. The primary functions of the department include the following:

  • The Strategic Asset Allocation branch assists clients with developing tailored investment policies that achieve their investment objectives consistent with their investment philosophies, funding policies, and risk tolerances, advocates for client driven investment solutions, manages the BCI product shelf and coordinates investment planning.

  • Investment Risk includes the management of processes and systems for monitoring, measuring, and estimating various forms of relevant investment risks across the various asset classes that BCI currently invests or may invest in and aggregating that risk at a total fund level. This team also supports the asset classes in providing independent assessments for deals and strategies.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Support the team in the development of clients’ ALM studies, strategic asset allocation, and investment policy recommendations to ensure that clients’ investment strategies and policies are appropriate and prudent given the nature of the funds, their underlying liabilities, and unique characteristics or circumstances

  • Support the management of BCI’s product shelf to ensure a client-focused rationale for each pooled fund

  • Assist with the development of long-term forward-looking capital market assumptions and simulations

  • Assist with annual investment planning activities
