Position Summary
The Non-Registered Radiology Technician supports the imaging team by performing diagnostic procedures under the direction of licensed staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, safety, and image quality.
Essential Functions
Practice within the scope of state regulations and training
Maintain competency in clinical and technical imaging functions
Verify patient identity and imaging orders; prepare patients for procedures
Perform exams according to department protocols; review images for quality and accuracy
Follow all radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment
Complete studies efficiently without compromising patient care
Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and respond to questions or concerns
Adhere to infection control and sterile technique standards
Operate imaging equipment and related systems effectively
Accurately document procedures, patient information, and any adverse reactions
Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control, and reporting equipment issues
Skills
Strong understanding of anatomy
Image evaluation and attention to detail
Equipment operation and technical aptitude
Knowledge of contrast protocols
Ability to respond in emergent situations
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Effective communication skills
Familiarity with electronic imaging systems
Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe patient care environment
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a JRCERT or AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program
Completion of required clinical and didactic training per state guidelines
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
Additional Details
