What “Senior Supply Chain Business Analyst” contributes to Cardinal Health

Job Summary

You will independently lead complex planning initiatives across demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply planning. You will collaborate with global and cross functional teams to drive structural improvements, enhance planning accuracy, and strengthen end to end supply chain performance.

While AI is not yet embedded in our daily operations, we are preparing for a future shift toward data driven and AI enabled planning. We welcome candidates who bring either:

•           Strong supply chain planning expertise with exposure to AI/ML tools, or

•           Solid experience leveraging AI tools with a strong motivation to build a career in supply chain management.

This role offers the opportunity to shape our future planning capabilities and influence long term operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end supply chain planning initiatives, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and supply planning, ensuring alignment with business goals and service-level requirements.
• Drive cross‑functional projects with SCM, Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, and Global teams to enhance planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Develop and refine KPIs, conduct root‑cause analysis, and propose data‑driven improvement actions with long‑term impact.
• Identify, design, and implement new planning processes, models, and best practices, contributing to policy and procedure development.
• Lead process‑improvement or system‑enhancement projects with significant scope, independently determining methodologies and execution plans.
• Mentor junior planners and analysts, providing guidance on planning methodologies, tools, and problem‑solving approaches.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must

• 8–12 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, or demand forecasting.
• Proven track record of leading complex, cross‑functional projects with measurable business impact.
• Experience with AI/ML tools (forecasting models, optimization algorithms, generative AI tools) or strong interest in applying AI to SCM.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and Japanese.

Preferred

• Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of Python or R is a plus.

現時点ではAI活用は日常業務に組み込まれていませんが、将来的なデータドリブン・AI活用型の計画プロセスへの移行を見据えています。そのため、以下いずれかのバックグラウンドを歓迎します：

• サプライチェーン計画領域の豊富な経験を持ち、AI/MLツールに触れたことがある方
• 計画経験はなくとも、AIツールを日常的に活用し、サプライチェーン領域への強い興味を持つ方

将来の計画プロセスの実行に向けて大きな影響を与える、重要なポジションとなります。

職務と役割

• 需要予測、在庫、供給管理に関する業務全般において、事業戦略と整合した最適なプランを策定する。
• QA、RA、Mktg、営業などの関連部門と連携し、計画精度向上や業務効率化を推進する。
• KPIの設計・改善、根本原因分析を行い、中長期的な改善施策を提案・実行する。
• 新たな計画プロセス、モデル、ベストプラクティスの企画・導入を主導し、方針・手順の整備に貢献する。
• 大規模または複雑性の高いプロセス改善・システム改善プロジェクトをリードし、最適なアプローチを自ら設計・遂行する。
• ジュニアメンバーの指導・メンタリングを行い、計画手法や分析スキルの向上を支援する。

必須要件

• サプライチェーン計画、在庫管理、需要予測などの領域での8〜12年程度の経験
• 複雑なクロスファンクショナルプロジェクトをリードし、成果を創出した実績
• AI/MLツール（予測モデル、最適化アルゴリズム、生成AIなど）の利用経験、または強い興味
• 多様なステークホルダーに対し、複雑な内容をわかりやすく説明できるコミュニケーション力
• 英語・日本語ともにビジネスレベル

• Power BI、Tableauなどのデータ可視化ツールの使用経験
• PythonまたはRの基礎知識があれば尚可
