Within center demand planning, global size analytic team is dedicated to understanding product selling at the size level across all brands, categories, genders, channels, and customers. Given the size-intensive nature of the product we sell and the complex network of points of sale, understanding our performance at a size and store level is important to the success of Levi Strauss & Co. The Size Planning team works cross-functionally and is driven by data to build accurate size profiles and size strategies to maximize revenues through optimized investment. 

 

The Size Analyst, GC Sizing will be the key point person for all sizing activities for the Greater China region (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong) This role will own the size level production signal and is responsible for the strategic direction of the size forecast including risk and opportunity identification and action You will coordinate key strategic initiatives in both strategy and process You will work cross-functionally across the organization to support and drive the sizing inputs and perspectives that achieve the broader company goals. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Pre-season size grid recommendation: Utilize data to drive decisions to determine what sizes to offer. Create and maintain any reports/analysis to provide hindsight/insight to relevant team to maximize inventory investment returns by identifying, analyzing, communicating, influencing, and delivering insights. 
  • Pre & In-season size profile validation and adjustment: Produce impactful analytics that drive meaningful business discussions and actions to improve size curve accuracy (MAPE), size productivity, inventory efficiency, and financial results 
  • Partner with cross functional team to adjust size grid/profile where required to optimize sales and mitigate size out/excess issue and drive size grid strategies 
  • Run ad-hoc analysis to address any business call out Respond to sizing requests based on business needs, including size grid changes and size-out investigations 
  • Provide feedback to sizing ops and analytics team to improve efficiency and format of standardized sizing reports and tools 
  • Support any sizing related projects that are related to size grid recommendation, profile adjustment 

 

Size Grid & Profile creation: Provide pre-season size grid recommendation to Size Ops to facilitate PLM size activation; Complete SGMT size selection at PC9/PG level; Partner with Size Ops and Digital planning team to ensure size profiles are generated by machine learning model or override the ML profiles with related tools (OP or SizePro) for specific product segments and locations. 

Data Analysis & Reporting: Produce impactful analytics that drive meaningful business discussions and actions to enhance size productivity, inventory efficiency, and financial results. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Merchandising, Sales, Allocation, Inventory Management, and Merchandise Planning teams to drive effective size grid strategies. 

Knowledge Acquisition: Gain in-depth product and area-specific knowledge to provide informed analysis, recommendations, and support key business decisions on size offerings. 

Ad Hoc Requests: Respond to sizing requests based on business needs, including size grid changes and size-out investigations. 

Coordination & Communication: Align activities and timelines with the GTM process and planning milestones. Communicate key sizing deliverables and timings cross-functionally, including follow-ups. 

Train and support: Serve as a subject-matter expert on all sizing tools  

Optimize size curve accuracy and grid productivity: Own all size signal deliverables and ensure size profile accuracy, by partnering with cross functional team to deliver pre-season and in-season sizing activities and analysis required. 

AI/Machine learning projects: Review and validate machine learning size profiles and provide input to data scientists to enhance the ML model. Participate in user acceptance testing to facilitate the development of digital sizing tools. 

 

About You 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field. 
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in merchandise retailing or demonstrated abilities in merchandise planning, allocation, merchandising. 
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn technical applications. Medium proficiency in Tableau and Power BI, and a basic understanding of SQL and Python is advantageous. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of ownership. Ability to interpret meaningful themes from quantitative data. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to present ideas and directions clearly to others. 
  • Data Visualization: Skillful in data visualization and storytelling to present ideas effectively. 
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to build strong relationships with diverse partners and work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Personal Attributes: Demonstrates strong listening skills, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to present ideas clearly.
