POSITION PURPOSE:         

Simulates and delivers radiation therapy treatments to patients with the proper technical procedure as outlined by the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription and the medical physicist’s treatment plan.  Assists with billing, QA, block cutting, and front desk duties under the direction of the Administrative Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Delivers radiation therapy treatments to patients.

  • Simulate patient and cut blocks for treatments.

  • Maintain QA and chart round data for administrative director.

  • Monitor patients’ health status daily for Radiation Oncologist.

  • Maintain clinical and technical aspect of chart for Radiation Oncologist.

  • Perform daily QA checks on simulator and linear accelerator for physicist.

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of a certified RTT program.

  • Current RRT status from the ARRT required.

  • Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) License required.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on assigned unit.  Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served.  Able to assess and interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patient group.

Compensation Range

$39.00 - $58.50
