Job Description:

Microchip is seeking a recent university graduate to join our Networking Communication Group as an Applications Engineer. In this entry-level role, you will support Ethernet endpoints and switches, helping customers successfully integrate Microchip products into their applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting field engineers and customers with technical questions during the development process
  • Creating and maintaining technical enablement materials to improve the user experience, such as:
    • Application notes
    • Knowledge base articles
    • User manuals
    • Sample code
  • Identifying gaps in current enablement materials and actively contributing to improvements for enhanced customer support
  • Collaborating with development teams to define high-level requirements that improve the customer experience with new products

Requirements/Qualifications:

This position is specifically targeted at recent graduates or entry-level candidates with a strong technical interest:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Practical experience through internships, student projects, or thesis work with:
    • Programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or other embedded languages
    • Linux operating systems and basic system concepts
  • Basic understanding of embedded processors, development workflows, and related ecosystems
  • Introductory knowledge of Ethernet communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, CoAP, or SOME/IP is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of networking and network management concepts is desirable
  • Strong willingness to learn, structured working style, and interest in customer-focused technical support
