Description:

North Texas Veterinary Hospital is a long-standing mixed-animal veterinary hospital with deep ties to the community, located north of Weatherford. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make a positive impact in our community.
 

Who We're Looking For:

NTVH has a great team atmosphere and values and a supportive and friendly environment. We are currently looking to hire a full-time, experienced veterinary technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have Mixed Animal experience in a clinical setting and have surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, and understanding of the importance of client education. This individual must be able to lift 50 lbs, be comfortable assisting in equine lameness exams, have a flexible schedule, and be a hard-working, positive, and self-motivated team member.

Requirements

  • Experienced Veterinary Technician (Required)
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (Highly preferred)
  • 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting 
  • Confident in horse handling and cattle experience 
  • Comfortable with small animal work
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Must be a self-starter and great team player
  • Weekend rotations are required

Qualifications 

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. 

  • Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements. 

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. 

  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. 

  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records. 

  • Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
