The compensation range for this role is a good faith estimate, it is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid. What you’ll do
Lead the Health Informatics function in delivering reliable, timely, and high-quality informatics solutions supporting Medical Affairs, Government Programs, Affordability, and enterprise health and quality activities.
Set priorities and manage the roadmap for informatics work to ensure alignment with divisional and organizational objectives.
Ensure robust governance, documentation, validation, and quality standards across all informatics products and workflows.
Serve as the primary analytical divisional representative across partners, clearly communicating methodologies, insights, and implications.
Partner and regularly collaborate with IT&S, Finance, and Intelligence leadership on shared standards, expectations, workflows, and governance.
Ensure informatics solutions leverage cloud platforms, modern data engineering patterns, and advanced analytical approaches such as machine learning and predictive methods when aligned to business needs.
Strengthen standardized, repeatable informatics processes that support affordability efforts, total cost of care transparency, and measurement of clinical and operational program impact.
Support clinical and operational initiatives such as high-cost claimant identification, avoidable ED reduction, chronic condition management, readmission avoidance, and preventive outreach.
Develop staff through coaching, clear expectations, and continuous skill growth.
Responsible for performance monitoring, policy enforcement, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, compliance, and team development, while ensuring accurate documentation of all related employment actions.
What you need
Strong communication skills with the ability to represent the department effectively across all levels of the organization.
Working knowledge of informatics concepts, data structures, data quality practices, and healthcare data workflows.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms, modern data engineering practices, and the principles of machine learning and statistical modeling sufficient to provide informed oversight.
Familiarity with healthcare data, coding standards, and compliance expectations relevant to Medical Affairs, Government Programs, and enterprise health and quality.
Demonstrated ability to make timely, informed decisions and operate effectively in complex or ambiguous environments.
Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related field required.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 7 years progressive informatics or data-related experience, including 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL and Python or R to ensure credible technical oversight.
Minimum 3 years leadership experience directing technical, data, or analytics-focused teams.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to look at a computer screen for prolonged periods.
Occasional walking, bending, or reaching within the office environment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, or reach.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
