The Role
Apollo Global Management is seeking a Trading Assistant to join its highly collegial trading platform, deeply integrated into the firm’s investment process, which has a top tier presence in every asset class across Global Credit. The Trading Assistant will work directly with traders and provide operational support on various funds, separately managed accounts and portfolio companies managed by Apollo. Functional responsibilities will include ensuring delivery of end-to-end management of trade bookings, including trade confirmation, trade settlement, trade life-cycle event support, and risk monitoring in partnership with portfolio managers, traders and global support teams. Primary client fund structures will include multi strategy (including structured credit, high yield and investment grade corporates, emerging markets, bank debt, etc.), public funds and separately managed accounts for Insurance portfolio companies as well as Insurance clients. The environment is fast-paced and requires exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage trade bookings across Apollo’s global credit businesses
Coordinate with traders, portfolio managers, finance, compliance and businesses managers through close partnership with New York, Los Angeles, and London teams
Act as an independent lead to book trades across multiple credit strategies with minimal direction and oversight from PMs
Provide real-time monitoring of portfolio activity and relay important points of feedback to key decision-makers
Oversee and publish trade and portfolio summaries
Collaborate with risk monitoring groups to develop reports related to the firm’s portfolios
Maintain a professional relationship with executing brokers
Resolve trade issues with counter party and internal operations
Refine existing trade allocation processes and develop and implement enhancements to systems
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the position
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree
1-3 years of experience on a trading floor as a Trading Assistant or Trade Support professional at a bulge-bracket investment bank or asset management firm required
Experience booking trades, corporate actions, security settlement processes and SMF set-up required
Strong working knowledge of various investment products including corporate bonds, ABS, bank debt term loans, private loans, Revolver/Delayed Draw loans, repos, whole loans, cash & synthetic structured credit, options, and swaps
Working knowledge of Bloomberg and Order Management Systems; knowledge of Everest and/or thinkFolio is a plus
Superior Excel skills
Programming skills is a plus
Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail

Pay Range
115,000-150,000The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
