The Director, Talent Assessment leads the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the enterprise assessment strategy, with a focus on evaluating leadership capabilities, identifying development needs, and enabling data-driven talent decisions. This role brings deep expertise in assessment design and validation and manages a portfolio of assessment tools, including the Manager Survey and FLP360 feedback instruments. This leader ensures assessment are well-designed, scientifically sound, and easy for the business to use. Over time, the role expands the assessment toolkit by identifying and implementing additional solutions, either externally sourced or internally developed, and overseeing their ongoing maintenance and effectiveness.
The role partners closely with HR partners, technology and analytics teams to shape roadmaps, establish meaningful measures of progress, and translate insights into aligned action and continuous improvement.
Deep expertise leading end-to-end assessment strategies, including design, development, execution, analysis, and interpretation of complex data sets to drive actionable insights.
Strong survey design and statistical analysis skills, with experience applying sound measurement practices to ensure valid, reliable and meaningful outcomes.
Proven ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into clear insights and compelling storylines that articulate business impact.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with confidence translating data into executive ready reporting and influencing partners through logic, credibility and persuasion.
Background in organizational psychology, behavioral science, or a related discipline, with comfort operating in a dynamic, matrixed environment and influencing across HR and business leadership.
Design and manage enterprise assessment tools, including the manager effectiveness survey and leadership 360-feedback instruments, ensuring alignment to current leadership competencies and development priorities.
Lead assessments to evaluate organizational talent health, leader readiness, and preparedness for future business challenges.
Provide insights on leadership strengths, gaps, succession risks and capability trends to inform workforce planning and enterprise talent strategies
Partner with business leaders to align assessment outcomes with strategic priorities and leadership development initiatives.
Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Learning, Talent Acquisition, and other HR functions to integrate assessment insights across the talent lifecycle.
Translate complex assessment findings into clear, compelling insights that drive understanding, alignment, and decision making at all levels of the firm.
Establish and govern standards for assessment tools, methodologies, and vendor partnerships,
ensuring validity, reliability, scalability, and ongoing effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and ethical standards across all assessment processes.
As a member of the Enterprise Talent Management Team, you will work in a dynamic environment with a team focused on delivering innovative and outcome driven talent strategies across Fidelity Investments. You will closely with your peers, HR partners, technology and analytics teams, and vendors ensuring a collaborative and iterative environment. Together, the team designs and delivers data and insights to increase the support and effectiveness or our Talent and Manager Practices.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-211,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
