Location/Division Specific Information

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we offer an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Material Handler in Warehouse Operations. This role is ideal for a current Material Handler with proven experience in all daily WH activities (receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping) with the ambition to lead the team on the Gemba and have a drive for continuous improvement. Some experience in people management is certainly needed for this role. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to our mission to build a healthier, cleaner, and safer world!

A day in the Life:

  • Coordinate daily warehouse operations to ensure flawless execution and efficiency.
  • Coordinate and supervise the transportation and shipping activities.
  • Able to solve day by day issues.
  • Able to manage small projects.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols strictly to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Implement and maintain work instructions and processes in integrated management system.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and effectively implement standard methodologies.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment to drive team success.
  • In absence of supervisor lead the team. Daily Tier1 work consultation at different departments.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Have a degree or good understanding in lean logistics.
  • Have a degree in logistics management.

Experience

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Fluent speaking and understanding Dutch is a must in this role.
  • Good level of English in speaking and writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Especially Q end stress
  • Understanding safety regulations and standard methodologies.
  • People manager, lean logistics approach.
  • Problem solving, Hands on mentality, not afraid to get your hands ‘ dirty on the warehouse floor.
