Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Our team, Finance Data Services part of EBS(Enterprise Business Service, is solving on time vendor payment and providing data foundation for business applications and users. Security is of utmost importance given that the team deals will financial data. Our rapidly expanding organization, business and customers need variety of finance related services in real time.

What you'll do:

  • Drive the next generation Walmart suite of products and platform by designing, coding, building, testing and deploying highly scalable and robust cloud based intelligent solutions.  
  •  You will use your engineering experience and technical skill to design & develop high performing and scalable solutions that meet the needs of millions of Walmart customers. 
  •  Implement cutting edge models and algorithms that operate on massive amounts of financial data keeping security at top priority.
  •  Help and participate with the teams that leverage and contribute to open-source technologies
  •  Make impact at a global scale.
  •  As a Software Engineer you would be working as an individual contributor to design, develop, implement and document to produce highest standard of deliverables.
  •  Interact with Walmart cross functional engineering teams such as cloud, platform, analytics etc. across geographies to leverage technical expertise and follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) within the established architectural guidelines.
  • Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver great products.  
  •   Participate in hiring and build teams enabling them to be high performing agile teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and experience of 6 months  to 1.5 Years years core software product development experience.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures and databases.
  • Deep experience within Java and Spring-boot ecosystem and open-source 
  • Should be clean code practitioner, must know SOLID and other related principles, hands on with various object-oriented design patterns.
  • tools to design and develop robust, high-performance and scalable applications for use within the Walmart product ecosystem.
  • Hands on with cloud operations and debugging applications on cloud, preferably on Azure or GCP
  • Hands on experience with RESTful services, Microservice development and techniques to unit test and integration test.
  • Hands on in SQL and No-Sql (preferably CosmosDB)
  • Hands on in Messaging (KAFKA, RABBITMQ etc).
  • CI-CD knowledge and working experience on any cloud platform.
  • Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology.
  • Experience on Scala, Spark, and knowledge of data engineering is strongly desired.
