A Day in the Life

This is an opportunity for people that are looking to grow professionally and make a difference in industry. Reporting to the Market Access & Public Affairs Director, this position not only offers a dynamic and innovative environment but also allows for the development of key skills and the ability to contribute in a meaningful way.

Acting in this role, you will play critical activities ensuring optimal access to Medtronic's technologies. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to navigate the evolving healthcare landscape, focusing on market access, health economics, and public affairs. This is a Principal role, which means you will hold a leadership position without having direct reports. Your role will cover Brazil, requiring travel within the region and presence in the office located in São Paulo, SP, Brazil as a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop and execute market access strategies to ensure Medtronic's products are accessible to patients and healthcare providers
  • Conduct health economic analyses to demonstrate the value of Medtronic's products, including health economic models and budget simulators
  • Engage with policymakers, healthcare decision-makers, and other stakeholders to advocate for policies that support access to Medtronic's products
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and patient advocacy groups
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree completed
  • Advanced English
  • Postgraduate and/or extension courses in areas such as health economics, health technology assessment, healthcare business management, advocacy and others in the healthcare area will be considered as distinctive qualities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational & planning skills, excellent communication and presentation abilities, leadership, and proficiency in health systems and data analytics. Ability to lead a project from scratch.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare systems, reimbursement processes, and regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of Pharmacoeconomics / health economics (minimum intermediate level), in order to be able to analyse and conduct studies (cost-effectiveness, cost-minimization, budget impact, etc.) with vendors / external consultants, as well as develop internal tools that can be used by field teams with hospitals, clinics and payers.
  • Spanish is a plus
