Join Saxo's Group Procurement team and help shape the way we work with vendors, contracts and strategic partnerships.

At Saxo, procurement is about much more than sourcing and contracts. We partner closely with the business to support growth, manage risk, drive value, and ensure we work with the right suppliers and partners.

We are looking for a commercially minded and relationship-driven Category Manager – Strategic Procurement who thrives on building strong stakeholder relationships, leading complex negotiations and creating value through strategic procurement.

This is an opportunity to work with stakeholders across the organisation, lead complex negotiations, and influence important business decisions in an international and highly dynamic environment.

You will report directly to the Head of Group Procurement and become part of a small, experienced team consisting of two Category Managers and a Vendor Manager supporting procurement, contract management and vendor governance activities across the Saxo Group.

About the job

As Category Manager – Strategic Procurement, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business and take ownership of procurement activities within your assigned areas. A significant part of your portfolio will involve software, technology and other indirect spend categories, working closely with stakeholders to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships and support strategic initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, thrives in negotiations, and is comfortable balancing commercial, operational, legal and regulatory considerations.

You will support the business throughout the entire contract lifecycle, from early commercial discussions and sourcing activities to negotiation, contract execution and ongoing vendor management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to support procurement and supplier-related decisions.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with vendors and strategic partners.
  • Support and manage tender and sourcing processes when relevant.
  • Negotiate, review and maintain supplier contracts throughout their lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Challenge stakeholders constructively to ensure the best commercial outcomes for Saxo.
  • Support vendor management and supplier governance activities.
  • Help identify opportunities to optimise spend, improve processes and create value.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with Saxo policies, regulatory requirements and risk management standards.
  • Contribute to the continued development of procurement practices, processes and tools across the Group.

Your profile

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded professional who enjoys working across functions and building strong relationships.

You do not necessarily need to come from a traditional procurement background, but you should have experience managing commercial discussions, supplier relationships and contract negotiations.

Key qualifications

  • Relevant experience within procurement, category management, sourcing, vendor management or a similar commercial role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to both support and challenge stakeholders when needed.
  • Experience negotiating and managing commercial contracts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Danish language skills are an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Experience within software, technology or other indirect spend categories is beneficial.
  • Experience from a regulated industry is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Who you are

We believe personality is just as important as experience.

You are someone who:

  • Enjoys building relationships and working closely with stakeholders.
  • Takes ownership and follows through on commitments.
  • Is curious, pragmatic and solution oriented.
  • Has a strong commercial mindset and enjoys negotiating.
  • Is comfortable challenging stakeholders in a constructive and respectful manner.
  • Can navigate complex situations while maintaining a collaborative approach.
  • Thrives in an international environment and enjoys working across functions and geographies.
