  • This position will be located at 1250 René-Lévesque Blvd. W., 18th floor, Montréal, QC

  • This is an hybrid position (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Job Summary Description:  As the Division Controller, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic financial leadership and overseeing outsourced finance operations. You will be responsible for maintaining a seamless integration between the shared business center abroad and the local business operations. Collaborating closely with the outsourced finance team and their team leads, you will drive financial excellence, decision-making, and ensure the achievement of global financial objectives. 


Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership and Decision-Making:

  • Provide financial leadership to align with the company's global goals and standards.

  • Make informed financial decisions to drive business success and generate efficiencies.

  • Manages budgeting process for corporate and division functions, including monthly review of actual results and target process for Corporate functions.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and inspire a local team of professionals and the outsourced finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

  • Provides guidance, coaching and development to the outsourced finance team and their Team Leads in 5 key finance areas (Cash Application, Accounts Payables, Treasury, GL & Reporting).

  • Mentor and develop local team members & the team leads to enhance their financial acumen.

Cash Flow and Working Capital Management

  • Lead cash flow and liquidity management, collaborating with the outsourced team on cash forecasting and fund allocation.

  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing working capital to support business objectives throughout Canada.

  • Collaborate with the local and outsourced team to monitor and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels.

Financial Reporting:

  • Supervises month-end close, review balance sheet and bank statement reconciliations

  • Review financial reports generated by the outsourced team before submission to the Senior Leadership team and Executives of the Group.

  • Ensure that financial reports comply with regulatory requirements and meet company standards.

Process Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with the outsourced team to enhance financial processes and efficiency.

  • Implement best practices to streamline financial workflows.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with outsourced operations.

  • Collaborate with the outsourced team to implement effective risk management strategies.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance measures to uphold high standards in financial reporting.

  • In collaboration with the outsourced finance team, coordinates the external audits of the financial statements

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the local office and the outsourced finance team.

  • Foster effective communication to address queries, resolve issues, and ensure a cohesive working relationship.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in financial management and team management. Oversight of outsourced finance operations is an asset.

  • Strong understanding of global financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work across different time zones and cultural backgrounds.

  • Sense of humbleness with no job being too big or too small to undertake

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
