The Opportunity


As a Team Lead and Professional R&D Engineer, you will join our Simulation Team and collaborate with a group of specialists with expertise in electrical, structural, fluid-dynamics, static & kinematic simulation and tolerance analysis. Within our Technology Centre R&D community, you will contribute to a wide range of projects related to Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) in the High Voltage Product Group. In this role, you will provide focus on technical leadership by performing as well as coaching team members, ensuring high‑quality simulation activities across all stages of the product lifecycle—from concept development to product launch—enabling simulation‑driven decision-making.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Recording and maintain enquiry register on regular basis.
  • Review customer’s bid documents, technical specification and requirements, identifies the scope of supply/ service, prepares list of technical deviations and clarifications.
  • Prepare Timely and comprehensive pre-bid documentation
  • Determine most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions.
  • Getting backup data, quotations from internal stakeholders, vendors, contractors, etc.
  • Close co-ordination and conduct necessary meetings with internal stakeholders (engineering, legal, operations, etc.) as well other business units.
  • Identifies potential risks in the bids/ estimates/ quotations/ solutions proposed.
  • Ensure all pre-tender processes and proposals follow relevant Hitachi Energy Procedures and guidelines, rationalize terms and conditions
  • Prepare techno-commercial proposals for local market considering all economical and technical project aspects as well as customer’s bidding process.
  • Follow customer tender portals and processes for bidding in tenders as applicable.
  • Support Sales team in the negotiation/ clarification during bidding process.
  • Close collaboration with the Sales team (TRES) and Common service FES responsible.
  • Track proposal status and follow-up with Sales/CS FES team and customers.
  • Planning the daily offer volume with the sales team to ensure delivery dates and adhere to timelines.
  • Get acquainted with tools and processes, guidelines to be followed
  • Bid & proposal standardization & competence development
  • Creation of Sale order in SAP with associated activities, on receipt of order from Customer.
  • Preparing post order documentation and following applicable commercial processes prior to handover.
  • Maintaining all documentation in hard and soft formats appropriately.
  • Lost proposal analysis to obtain better future bidding
  • Know-how sharing & cross-function collaboration.
  • Accountable for technical expertise and quality & accuracy of the deliverables
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Master’s or PhD in engineering (Mechanical) with 8-10Yrs of total experience, with a good understanding of CFD and knowledge about material properties are desirable.
  • Advanced skills in numerical methods for thermodynamic simulations. Experience with software like ANSYS CFX/FLUENT, COMSOL and StarCCM+ is preferential.
  • Knowledge of high voltage products and CAD tools like ProE would be a plus.
  • Solid technical background, with hands on experience in ProE along with developing configurations for variants in ProE.
  • As you will be part of a global business, willingness to travel and fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Shall have strong sense of safety & integrity; ownership & responsibility; collaboration & trust.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
