About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Salesforce is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Senior Manager of Sustainability for India to drive the local implementation and execution of our environmental strategy across the region. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of flagship initiatives, ensuring Salesforce meets its regional environmental commitments, including our 1t.org forest restoration pledge, India energy transition pilots, and AI for climate use cases with NGO partners.

You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders (customers, employees, and local partners) to build awareness, manage project timelines, and ensure the successful delivery of our climate and nature agenda on the ground. This role is ideal for an experienced sustainability practitioner who excels at execution, project management, and influencing cross-functional teams.

Reporting & Collaboration

The incumbent will work in close coordination with the global Impact team and local functional leads (Philanthropy, Government Affairs, and Internal Comms) to ensure seamless program delivery.

Core Responsibilities

1. Program Execution & Implementation (Focus Area)

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of core sustainability programs in India, including the local deployment of the 1t.org tree commitment (identifying projects, managing partner relationships, and tracking progress).

  • Manage India energy transition pilot projects, coordinating logistics, stakeholder alignment, and data tracking to support Salesforce’s Science-based Targets.

  • Identify, vet, and support the operational build-out of high-profile AI for climate, nature, and water use cases, particularly with NGO customers and partners.

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans and timelines for country-specific targets and programs related to policy support, nature-based solutions, and employee engagement.

  • Drive internal awareness and excitement for sustainability within Salesforce India by organizing and executing local events, leveraging global initiatives for local context.

  • Track, measure, and report on the progress and impact of all India sustainability initiatives to the local Director and global Impact team.

2. Stakeholder Management & Alignment

  • Serve as a primary execution point-of-contact for internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Philanthropy, Government Affairs, Net Zero Cloud Sales) to ensure alignment and delivery of shared goals.

  • Collaborate closely with the national Philanthropy lead to ensure India climate grantmaking aligns with established global and national sustainability priorities.

  • Partner with PR and Internal Communications to localize global company messaging, creating accurate and compelling local content for internal and external channels.

3. Advocacy & Ecosystem Support

  • Support the Director/Senior Leader in implementing the India climate & nature advocacy agenda by preparing briefing materials and tracking policy developments.

  • Act as a local representative for Salesforce at relevant industry working groups, customer engagements, and conferences as directed by senior leadership.

  • Facilitate strategic customer and partner engagement in coordination with Sales and Marketing teams to raise local awareness of Salesforce’s sustainability leadership and Net Zero Cloud offerings.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in project management, operational execution, and cross-functional team leadership within the corporate sustainability domain. They must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at driving results through influence.

  • Strong working knowledge of corporate sustainability fundamentals, including climate science, renewable energy transition challenges in India, and nature-based solutions.

  • Proven track record in managing complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Experience with local sustainability networks and partnerships in India.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with proven experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential, with strong presentation and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with the role of technology, including AI, in achieving climate and nature goals is a plus.
